Ty Pennington gets his dream assignment when he spends a day at the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show Conference in Chicago to check out the hottest new high-tech refrigerators, washing machines, showers and baths. "The one thing I saw is color, color, color everywhere," the host of Extreme Home Makeover tells Rachael. "So you're way ahead of your time with the orange stove." He says designers are constantly looking for new ways to help people multi-task -- with ideas like a shower you can tan in, and a bath tub that turns into a steam room.

Ty has some of his own new design ideas to share, too. He recently launched a furniture line with storage pieces that help people keep track of their iPods, cell phones and Blackberries when they get home. "We all have these new gadgets that we carry around," Ty explains, "I think about things like docking stations, chargers, all your outlets are in there ... you can hook up all these things that you pull out of your pockets."
