Rach's fashion buddy Gretta has her stylist's eye on four women with common complaints about their figure. She gives them all tips on how to best hide the areas they hate and accentuate the ones they love.

The Right Foundation

For women battling their bottom halves, a control-piece undergarment is key. "Models wear them," Gretta reassures. "It's only for smoothness, not necessarily to correct. Go high-waisted if your waist is the issue, or if your legs and lower half are the issue, go with a regular little panty brief."

"Not Enough Up Top"

If you feel self-conscious about your top area, the first thing Gretta recommends is investing in a good seamless, molded bra. "This works from a AA to a D," she says. "The smaller you are, the more padding you can do. If you're bigger, you can lose the padding but you still need the support."

Gretta suggests choosing a dress with gathering around the bust and a molded bra on the inside. In the back, tie the straps together with a piece of ribbon. "It lifts everything up and gives a nice detail to the back," she says. "Even if you're heavy-chested, halter shapes are more flattering; not only do they pull everything back, they pull it all in."

Inserts definitely give you more to work with!

The "cutlet" inserts can get a little more expensive, so you can buy a bag of cloth bra inserts at a fabric store and sew or pin them into an old bra or into dresses that don't have a molded bra. "You have to get something that gives you a little shape and a little form," Gretta says, "not just filling."

"Not Enough in the Back"

Never get a pant without a pocket! Gretta recommends low- or mid-rise jeans, as well as jeans that have a tab pocket. "If you want to fill it in," she says, "throw extra material there."

"Too Much Around the Middle"

Gretta outfits Elyse in an A-line wrap dress with a high waist. "An A-line really shows her great curves," she says. She also wraps a belt above her problem area instead of right on it, which only draws attention to it. Clothing with high waists, like empire dresses, hide a tummy well.

"Smaller Up Top, Wider Down Below"

One rule of thumb is if you have wider hips, avoid pants with pockets in the front because they add bulk. Gretta puts Sheila in a longer criss-cross top which smooths out the transition between her small top and wider bottom. For the pants, keep them flat with a wide band. "The leg should be wide," Gretta says. "Never, ever, ever wear tapered legs."
