Talk about the show!

Nicole says she's a pro when it comes to first dates but she just can't score a second one. "They say they'll call, they say they like me, and then I never hear from them again!" she cries. Nicole is attractive, smart and fun, so what's the problem? With the help of a hidden camera and body language expert Janine Driver, Rachael sets Nicole up on three blind dates to find out if her body language is betraying her. After Nicole is caught fidgeting, twirling her hair and playing with her fingers on her dates, the guys revealed that they thought Nicole seemed pretty nervous. Janine says "there are three nevers in dating and Nicole committed every one on all three dates!"

  1. Never fidget. Moving around a lot and touching your hair or hands can make you seem anxious.

  2. Never create physical barriers. Make sure there isn’t too much space between you and your date when you sit down. And don’t cross your arms or legs or hold a drink in front of your heart.

  3. Never wait to build rapport. Be sure to use your date’s name often and follow the "5/15 Touch Factor" rule -- at least five subtle touches within the first 15 minutes!

Staying clear of the three nevers are a sure bet to improving your dating strategy. There are also a few more things you can do to give your date the right impression so that future dates are sure to follow. Janine adds:

Maintain good eye contact. The first way two people connect is through looking into each other’s eyes. Be careful though -- too much eye contact at the start can also freak out your date!

Nod when your date is talking. Nodding signals to your date that you’re listening.

Lean in! Leaning toward your date during conversation shows interest and acceptance. But watch out -- leaning in too much can make you seem needy or desperate for approval while leaning back too much can give off arrogant vibes.

Head up. Looking down at the ground too often can make you appear lost or insecure.

Keep your date talking. It’s great to build a connection from the start. If you keep your date talking, you’re actually the one in control since you’re getting all the information!

Build up a good attitude. How you feel deep inside will come through in your body language and can make a huge difference!

Lay your hands on the table. Having your hands under the table signifies to your date that you are keeping things hidden and aren’t willing to invest much yet. Expose your hands above the table and commit a little more of yourself to the first-date relationship.

Smile and laugh. Relax and have fun! Your date will be more inclined to listen if you show that you’re a positive person.
