Q: I have been with my boyfriend for 10 months now, and I love him more than anything. The only problem is that he is not romantic in any way, and I am a complete romantic. How can I get him to be more romantic, and do you have any date ideas that I could take him on to show him how easy it is to be romantic and still have a good time? (Keep in mind that I am a graduate student right now and so I don't have a job, so the date would have to be VERY cheap or free!)

Colby: You know the old saying: You can lead a horse to water ... Some guys just aren't into the whole romance thing, but he should at least be willing to go along for the ride when you want to do something romantic. Be direct and specific and tell him what you find romantic -- maybe he doesn't know. You can be very romantic right at home -- a note, a bubble bath, a massage or even the right music doesn't cost a thing, but can say a whole lot!

Q: Hey Colby, I am a fellow Red Raider! I am in the process of going from a marketing executive to an owner of a pet care business. What are your secrets to making successful transitions in careers?

Colby: Get your guns up, Tamela! Career paths can change, mine certainly has over the years. But what should never change is your work ethic, drive and perseverance. I know it sounds cliche, but it's true -- you must be relentless in your will to succeed.

Q: The segment you had with the guys talking was great. They said that they like low maintenance women that have a lot of confidence. But I was told I scare some men with some of the things I do. I am only 5 feet tall -- how can I be scary? I don't think I am scary. I actually think I am very shy at times. When men say they like confidence in women, what are they really saying? A woman that can take care of themselves, can change a tire, carry a conversation?

Colby: Don't be confused: confidence is not about what you do, it's about who you are. You don't have to prove that you're confident with your actions -- sometimes subtle is sexy.

Q: When is the best time of the year to buy a car at a dealership?

Colby: For new cars, late fall is usually a good time. By October all the new year's models are in and there is an incentive to move current year models off the lot before the end of the calendar year.

Q: I am a 23-year-old student who will be graduating college in May and I have NO IDEA what I want to do! I have taken those "quizzes" that tell you what you are good at and the types of jobs that you may be interested, but nothing strikes me as exciting. I know that obviously you will go through many jobs before you land the one that you love, but I would really like to know where to start. I know that there are so many jobs out there that people don't even think about when they choose a career. I want to do something different that is fun and exciting, but I haven't a clue where to start to look. I know that graduating from college is not the best time to ask this question, but better late than never!

Colby: When I graduated with a degree in business marketing, I too had no idea what my "career" would be, but I took a job in sales to pay the bills. I knew it wasn't going to be my life-long pursuit, but it was a way for me to network, meet new people, and see what else the world had to offer. By experiencing life, I learned not only what I did want, but more importantly what I did not want. Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger!

Q: Your car info was great, I am however looking for a used reliable car for my 17 -year -old daughter. I want it to be safe and reliable for her to get to school and to work (if she gets a job!) What are the key things to look for if not buying from a dealer?

Colby: It's important to find a trustworthy mechanic to do a thorough inspection before you buy a used car and if the seller takes issue with that, move on! It's a red flag.

Q: Colby, I would like to know what has been your favorite thing that you have done so far on the show?

Colby: Already it's been an amazing journey, but from an adventure standpoint the helicopter ride over Atlanta was tops.

Q: How often is too often for my boyfriend, and also father of our 9-month-old son, to go out with his buddies?

Colby: Hard to put a number on this. If you are asking the question then it's probably too much for you. Getting a number isn't the answer -- it's time to start communicating.

Q: Why is it that we men always have to pay when we go out? I have suggested a few times to women that I've gone out with that it would be nice if they paid once in a while -- especially if they ask me if I want to go out -- and got dirty looks. What gives?

Colby: If you are really interested in the girl it shouldn't bother you who picks up the check...call me old fashioned I think the guy should always offer to pay. If you are not expecting it and she offers to pay, it's a great treat.

Q: This guy and I have been talking for about 8 months. We are both feeling each other, but the only thing that's coming in between us is our distance. He stays in Miami and I stay in Orlando. What's your take on long distance relationships? Why is it easier for a woman to want to be in a long distance relationship and it's so much harder for a man? What do you feel needs to be done between both persons in order for the relationship to work?

Colby: As long as you both have the same expectations and your needs are being met, the distance between you two shouldn't matter..relationships aren't easy whether you in the same city or you are miles apart. It's all about both parties being on the same page.

Q: I hear from my friends they all say when you say you're going to call a girl back wait two days so you don't seem too pushy and scare them away. My question is how soon is too soon? I don't really what to call them right away when I get home from the date, but girls always say they like it when a guy calls right away. How long do you wait?

Colby: I said it before in a "Girl's Guide to Guys," if you are into her call her, why play games?

Q: I've been dating a man my age for 5 years, I want to get married he does not. He breaks up with me when I start pressuring him about marriage. I always go back to him after a few months because I miss and love him. What is your suggestion on this issue?

Colby: If you are wanting to marry a man that doesn't want to marry you...let him go.

Q: How does a 25 year old find someone in this day and age? The boys this age are not so much ready for relationships...at least, not where I live. Will I be alone till I'm in my 30's?

Colby: First of all, there are worse things than being single in your 20's (or even your 30's)! These are the years when you really get to know yourself as an adult. Instead of getting frustrated about being single, use this time to find out what makes you happy - other than boys. Independent women with a positive attitude are sexy to men.

Q: Are you REALLY single?

Colby: Yep...

Q: A couple of my friends are getting engaged and getting married at a young age after only knowing their husbands for a few months. I tell them that being 20 and married isn't going to be easy and that they need to discover who they are before they can merge two lives together. They're getting married because they want someone who can take care of them instead of having to do it on their own. I decided that I don't want to get married, and if I do ever get married, it won't be until I'm older and won't be until after I find out who I am. I'm comfortable being by myself and taking care of myself, but my friends keep telling me that I need to get a boyfriend to take care of me. I don't feel that I need to depend on anyone other than myself. Is it wrong of me to think that you need to know who you are before you can share your life with someone else? And that you should be able to be independent and take care of yourself in case something happens to where you don't have anyone to take care of you anymore? Am I just being pessimistic?

Colby: Your friends may not agree with you, but I certainly do. And I know a whole lot of other men and women that do, too.

Q: What are some good ideas for a great first date? I am looking for something that isn't the typical dinner and drinks kind of date.

Colby: You have to check out a segment we have coming up on the show called "3 Dates in 3 States." The idea is to get creative and think outside of the box when it comes to planning a date. It's not always about what you do - it's how you do it. I think effort is always rewarded when it comes to a date. That's why women almost always prefer a well planned dinner with wine, music and candles at home - rather than a reservation at a restaurant.
