Rocco DiSpirito, Bobby Flay, Sunny Anderson and Adam Perry Lang want to be sure you are always ready for an impromptu summer barbecue! Here are their tips for the essential summer items to keep your guests happy every time!
Rocco DiSpirito "I like to think of the summer as a time where you can make one change in your life that is a little healthier, that will add up to a big difference by the end of the summer," Rocco says. "We eat a lot of ketchup in the summer -- I'm going to replace it this summer with agave ketchup. If you like tequila you'll like agave nectar because that's what tequila's made from! And it's made into ketchup and it's much healthier."
Adam Perry Lang "My recommendation is a micro-plane grater," he says, suggesting you use the grater to add garlic and onions right into the pan as you cook. "This thing will add flavor throughout the whole process when you are cooking."
Sunny Anderson "I'm not into any of the new trendy stuff," she says, sharing a simple tip. "To me, a party is not a party or a cookout without ice, and I have been to some events where ice runs out and the party is over! So, if you're planning an event this summertime, just judge about a pound of ice per guest and you will not run out of it."
Bobby Flay "My must-have for the summer is rum," Bobby says. "Rum makes lots of fantastic, refreshing summer-like drinks. You can mix it with fresh mint or pineapple or some other kinds of fruits. Rum is also terrific for marinating chicken ... a light, white rum is just fantastic to have around."
