Best Tip for Thanksgiving

behopkins1
My family groans over leftovers after day two! So the day after Thanksgiving I slice meat for sandwiches (which they are happy to consume) and then dispatch the remainder of the meat from the bone. I toss the bone into a pot to make broth. Then I make a HUGE filling for Turkey Pot Pies using the broth, cream, heat stable corn starch (this is a REAL tip- it freezes and reheats without getting runny!) and veggies. I pack the filling into deep aluminum pans and freeze for winter dinners. When I need a no-brainer meal, I pull one out and top it with crust, mashed potatoes, biscuits- whatever I have on hand- and bake!

Another tip is to buy some tin pie pans and make homemade TV dinners out of them. Then you can have Thanksgiving any time you want. All you do is after dinner when everybody is FULL and wants no more keep out what you want for other meals that week. Then divide then rest into you pie pans, cover with foil and place in freezer. Then when you want one heat you oven to 400 and bake for 60 minutes.
