Peas & radishes

nhgal
Recently, Rachael had a dish with sauted peas & chopped radishes. My husband happen to be home & saw it & thought that would be interesting to try. We have a garden & end up with SO MANY radishes, so any idea on how to use them, other than in salad, is most welcome. Well, we tried it & it was really very good. The radishes gave the dish a little "zing". Try it, you can always pick out the radishes if you don't care for it.

Did you know radishes are grown in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors: elongated white icicle; carrotlike Japanese daikon; purple, pink and lavender Easter egg; and black from eastern Europe to name just a few. This info is from saladcenter.com under Seasonal Produce.

I always do radishes in my green beans. Throw some bacon in there. Also, my mom always made kielbasa and green beans, just by throwing some kielbasa and an undrained can of green beans in a skillet and heating it up. I prefer fresh gr. beans so I use that and a little water to steam them, and recently I started adding radishes to it and it is a PERFECT compliment to the salty sausage.

Thank you, thank you, thank you - "mystica42" !!! We have grown various type of radishes (yes, "sweetberries", we know) and have always wanted to know what else to do with them. Peas & radishes - great. Now I have beans & radishes (we grow those too). This is SO great!!! You get SO many new ideas here. Much thanks.
