Second use for Garlic Press:

SugarbugPeanut
If you want to save a little time and money, buy a small pack of key-limes instead of the large limes, because sometimes you only need a teaspoon or two of juice, right?

Well, slice a key lime in half, and put it in a garlic press. it gets out every DROP of juice, while keeping the pulp and seeds nicely compacted and out of your recipe.

Absolutely brilliant thank-you!

Aw, thank you:)

I suppose you could use this tip also with lemons if you cut the lemons in small enough pieces. Good tip.

Wow, that IS a great tip! ...I wish I had a garlic press lol.The only kitchen gadget I have is a manual can opener that's about shot, I've had it for at least five years. It's about done it's duty. lol

"pita", start buying various kitchen helpers - garlic press, etc. You don't have to go "whole hog", just do a little at a time when you see a hint that you like. Most grocery stores carry the basics at a good price. Much luck.

SugarbugPeanut, that's such a great tip! I've been using a mini-strainer for squeezing lemon/lime juice and it can get a little tedious. So this I will have to try!

I've been meaning to but I'm disabled and don't get out much. I can't get around on my own so I'm at the mercy of others when I want or need to go somewhere. I think first up will be measuring cups and spoons. I have a tablespoon, teaspoon and half teaspoon and I'm missing the 3/4 and 1/4 cups from my measuring cups. Bith are hand me downs from my mom lol. I DID finally get a pizza cutter when I was out getting a gift for a bridal shower.

Say Pita, how about "hinting" to all on the things you need for Christmas or birthday presents? I know I would rather give someone something they WANT than just guessing. You may get duplicates, but they will always come in handy when one is dirty or "mis-placed". Or give one "list" to some & another "list" to others. LOL

Well measuring cups and spoons are a must and that I know are in the kitchen section of the grocery stores, and it's a good idea to give people ideas for gifts that way you can collect something you actually need and will be useful all year, and it is true that if you collect little by little you'll soon have everything you need, (and like most of us way too much probably LOL). Sugarbug that's a great idea for the garlic press you always come up with good ideas keep them coming!!!

You can also check yard sales or flea markets. Lots of times people have duplicates and sell them for almost nothing and they are still almost new.
