Cooking Turkey In A Paper Bag!

Ryder64
Just was wondering if many others have tried cooking their Turkey in a Brown Paper Bag? I have used this method for years and was looking for any others who have or any added various ways to keep the Turkey moist instead of basing Thanks KIM

I have not tried this, but my sister-in-law swears by it. She rubs the inside of the bag with oil/butter mixture. Sometimes she adds spices - basil, margoram, rosemary and/or sage. But she does prefer to spice the turkey instead. One of these days, I'll try it. But for now, I go with my mother's way.

DarHug - it's simple, just stick your turkey in a brown paper bag & roast. Like I posted, my sister-in-law coats the inside of the bag with an oil/butter mixture & spices the turkey as usual. It's a fun way, but I prefer basting the old way. Each time you open the over to baste, that great smell goes all around the house. This "bag" method is great for smaller turkeys. Try it, you may like it.

I actually have cooked many turkeys in a brown paper bag back in my college days - and it is fool-proof and does not require you to do much of anything. I had forgotten about that -- thanks for the trip down memory lane :)
