Can't get motivated to diet

GmaJaci
I am going to be 50 next month. I know I can diet and exercise and lose weight, but I always seem to yoyo back and forth. I want to lose some weight so I feel good about myself and look better when the big day comes. Any suggestions on how to get motivated and stay motivated.

Instead of "dieting" my husband and I did a life style change. We still alot of normal food. It's just how it's done. We ate pizzas the other night for supper, but it was entirely healthy. We cook chicken breasts on a george foreman grill or in a skillet with cooking spray or i can't believe it's not butter spray. Both have no fat or calories. The crust is just a simple whole wheat tortilla the fewer calories and fat the better. Get the sauce you like with calories and fat again the fewer the better. Then you top it with fat free cheese. The idea is watch your calories and exercise. Take a walk or ride a bike. We also drink diet soda. Pepsi or Coke Zero are good. You also want to stay away from foods that have enriched or bleached flour. My hsband and I have been "dieting" for about 10 weeks with no cheating (cheeseburgers fries....) I ahve lost 24 pounds and my husband has lost 56 pounds in those 10 weeks.

I hear you! I have been tryin to kick the last 20lbs of my pregnancy wieght...and here I am a year later...still working on it. My fiance can drop weight it seems instantly, while I am struggling trying to make those healthy choices. I even get outside and walk with the baby 2 miles a day!! Nothing is helping...and I can not give up my morning coffee/routine.

I have not heard of the Vemma Detox - but I am currently doing the Isagenix Nutritional Cleanse. Lost 20 lbs . It's fantastic and I have a greater level of energy.

I too have spent many hours in the gym- along with an impeccable diet to only loose a couple of pounds. (low thyroid issues)
I was skeptical when a friend mentioned Isagenix, (she did the program to rid herself of a caffeine addiction and lost 15 lbs in the first 35 days) I tried it and it worked, I'm no longer a skeptic!

I agree with you, c_a_hankin, lifestyle changes work the best. I learned about these several years ago when I went to the nearest Weight Watchers center. They are so realistic in their approach to the weight issues we all have.

Hi there!...i'm new to ClubRR..and wanted to share a little information on dieting and a reason why it does not work for some woman...we all know about our thyroid levels but there r more hormonal problems that women have that effect weight dramatically and maybe we r not so well informed...in one year i gain 100lbs. with extreme fatigue and suppressed appetite...it took 3 years for doctors to find my problem and now 8 months in with just one tablet a day, i lost 60lbs...i think rachel should have a show regarding women's hormones other than thyroid...like prolactin..and head traumas that can affect the regulation of your hormones- like me, for example. We, as woman have alot to care for and the more education we receive, the faster we can recognize what type of problem we have and get it addressed medically. I hope this helps someone who maybe spend years trying to figure out what was wrong, like me. Sometimes motivation and diet r not the only thing we need.
